What Is Grief?

Category:

Grief is the natural response to loss and change. It is the upheaval, pain and disruption we experience when we lose someone who we loved and who gave our lives meaning. It is unique to each of us and we grieve in our own way. Over time, you may feel that grief is never going to end, but with the passage of time, we also feel less pain. As the holidays get closer, grief can revisit us.

Listed below are some ideas that can help you process grief:

  • Time
  • Patience
  • Compassion towards yourself
  • Support from others (family, friends and grief support groups)
