Risa Hanau Presents Advance Care Planning Workshop

(GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA)—Health care professionals are invited to attend an advance care planning workshop led by Risa Hanau, vice president of clinical services at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG), on Friday, April 15, from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at the Lusk Center, located at 2501 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405. A continental breakfast will be provided.
Hanau will discuss why advance directives are important, when they are used and how to complete them. She will also speak about how to start the conversation and how to answer the most frequent questions and concerns that patients and families have about advance directives. Participants can take this opportunity to complete their own advance directives or become more proficient at helping others complete these documents. HPCG is hosting this workshop as part of a national effort to highlight the importance of advance health care decision making—one that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). As a participating organization, HPCG is providing information and tools for people to talk about their wishes with family, friends and health care providers, as well as executing written advance directives in accordance with Tampa personal injury lawyers state laws.
Advance care planning allows consumers to make medical decisions by considering those decisions ahead of time and letting others know about their end-of-life care wishes.
