Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro’s (HPCG) speakers bureau was created to tell our story of comfort, compassion and hospice care. A frequent comment we hear from patients and family members is, “If only we had known about hospice sooner.” When a cure for one’s advanced illness is no longer the goal, our care provides comfort from pain, relief from symptoms and offers choices on how to live.
We provide speakers as a community service to various groups and organizations in Guilford County and surrounding areas. If you are looking for a speaker concerning hospice care, end-of-life issues or the need for advanced directives, we are ready to assist you.
We often visit small and large groups in the workplace, faith-based organizations, schools, civic groups, health care providers, long-term care communities and other settings. The speakers include experienced employees and trained volunteers who can discuss a variety of end-of-life care topics.
In addition to educating the public about HPCG’s programs and services, we also share our experience in areas such as recognizing the complexity of being a caregiver, dealing with hard choices, coping with grief and the joys of being a volunteer.
