HPCG Welcomes Three New Vice Presidents

Greensboro, NC – Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG) is pleased to announce the names of three new Vice Presidents for Clinical Services, Nursing, and Marketing and Development.

Margaret (Maggie) Conklin, RN, BSN, MPH has been selected as HPCG’s Vice President of Clinical Services for Nursing. Conklin’s professional career over the past 33 years has included numerous roles in the health department and hospitals. Conklin has held senior leadership positions with Moses Cone Health System, Chesapeake Health in Chesapeake, Va, and most recently, Director of Nursing Operations with Novant Health Inc, at Forsyth Medical Center. She has also served as interim Chief Nursing Officer.

Conklin has a strong background in review of etoro’s pros and cons operations, finance, and quality in her previous leadership roles. She is a highly experienced mentor and coach for staff and other leaders. Conklin will be responsible for overseeing county-wide homecare and long term care which will include all nursing, triage, and hospice aides.

Risa Hanau, MSW, LCSW has been selected as the new Vice President of Clinical Services of Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. Hanau’s professional career includes 16 years working in various management and clinical roles with hospice organizations. Hanau served 11 years as Director of Support Services at Hospice of the Piedmont with responsibility for multiple clinical programs including adult and pediatric social work, bereavement, volunteer, and chaplain programs. More recently, she has served as community educator and counselor in HPCG’s Counseling and Education Center (CEC).

In 1991, Hanau attained LCSW status and she has served as a clinical supervisor for staff who have worked toward and achieved their LCSW. Risa has been a presenter for What Do I Say (WDIS) and TLC in the Workplace®. She is well known in our community through her public speaking.

Paul Russ, MFA, CFRE has been named as the new Vice President of Marketing and Development of Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. Russ has served as the Director of Resource Development at HPCG since 2001. In this role he has helped develop a stable funding base for the agency, maximizing its Annual Campaign and expanding its endowment resources. Previously, Russ had fundraising and marketing responsibilities for Triad Health Project and for Family Service of the Piedmont.

He has been responsible for several fundraising campaigns, including a $3.5 million campaign for Family Service, and a recent $10 million endowment campaign for HPCG. Mr. Russ received a masters’ degree in film and video production from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1995 and earned his CFRE credential, Certified Fund Raising Executive, in 2003. From 2003 until 2008, he served as an adjunct faculty member at UNCG, teaching Philanthropy and Resource Development.
