Counseling and Education Center (CEC) Offers Grief Counseling
Talking about the loss of a loved one and the adjustment issues involved can be helpful to you and others who grieve. Because the needs of a family and main caregiver continue after the death of a loved one, hospice care continues throughout the first year of bereavement as grief support. HPCG makes this support available at no charge to those served by HPCG as well as anyone in the Greater Greensboro area grieving the loss of a loved one.
One-on-one Counseling The professional, licensed staff of the CEC of HPCG can provide one-on-one counseling to you or your family members. To schedule an appointment for yourself, please call our Counseling and Education Center at 336.621.5565. Counseling appointments and support groups meet at HPCG’s main campus at 2500 Summit Avenue. Grief Support Groups for Adults Sharing your memories, your feelings and your strategies for coping with other adults who are also grieving can be especially helpful in healing and recovery. Our CEC staff offer evening and daytime support groups to those served by HPCG, as well as anyone in the Greater Greensboro area at no charge. Pre-registration required by calling 336.621-5565. Grief Support Groups for Children Children cope with loss differently than adults. The Kids Path staff of HPCG offer support activities for children and adolescents throughout the year. Please call 336.544.5437 for more information.
CEC Resource Center Located on our main HPCG campus at 2500 Summit Avenue, the CEC Resource Center has a lending library of books and videos on coping with loss, grief and life-limiting illness. CEC staff can also recommend book titles and other materials.
