History & Vision

History

HPCG, a non-profit organization, was founded from the grassroots of the Greensboro community in 1980, entirely through the efforts of volunteers. Our hospice pioneers were volunteers from the academic, faith, nursing, and business communities of Greensboro. Having begun in a windowless office in the basement of the Public Health Department, HPCG grew dramatically, and is now located on a five-acre campus with three buildings, and a satellite office in the Guilford College area of Greensboro.

Since 1980, HPCG has supported people in the Greater Greensboro area and enabled them to live fully, with comfort and dignity, to the end of life. We provide physical, emotional and spiritual support for people faced with a life-limiting illness as well as their caregivers and families.

HPCG offers hospice care in the patient’s home, as well as in assisted-living residences and long-term-care facilities….where ever the patient calls home.

If you wish to contact HPCG, please call (336) 621-2500.
